The number of prisoners in Russia has decreased from 465 to 282 since 2021.

The recruitment of prisoners by the "SVO" has a "certain influence" on this.  said TASS Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service Arkady Gostev. 

85 thousand of the total number of prisoners are in pre-trial detention facilities. 

According to Gostev, the recidivism rate among those sentenced to forced labor has decreased threefold.

"NeMoskva" wrote that the prisoners are recruiting to the war with Ukraine, and sometimes they are forced to sign contracts using torture.
