The largest enterprise in the Barnaul food industry Altaiholod (ice cream production) suspended production and sent employees on forced leave. The company is at risk of bankruptcy.
The first wave of layoffs from the company will take place in August: at the beginning of the month, people will lose their jobs. 162 employees, in the middle of the month - more six people. Altaiholod notified the employment service of this.

As a result, the holding company owed several banks. In May, the Fordewind investment and financial group and Altaykom, a supplier of raw materials and equipment for the food industry, warned of their intention to file for bankruptcy against Altaykholod. The company also received over 20 civil lawsuits from counterparties.
A1 (part of Alfa Group) is prepared to buy out the Russian Cold Group of Companies, including its debts. It's unclear whether this move will help employees retain their jobs.
