Local residents in Volgograd defended a school stadium. The district administration overturned a decision to demolish it.

A stadium with swings, football goals, a podium for awards, benches and table tennis tables, established at the expense of local residents of the village The second kilometer in Volgograd, will remain in place. This is the response Volgograd residents received from the prosecutor's office.

"We received a response that after reviewing the protest, the order regarding demolition was rescinded. The locals are very happy, especially the children. They immediately felt optimistic. We mowed the grass, installed volleyball nets, and after publicity, we eliminated the dumps and cleaned up the surrounding area."- told residents of the village.

They shared their joy: several football matches were immediately held at the stadium, girls were playing volleyball, and overall the stadium became even more popular.

Residents believe that the head of the district Sergey Tatsiy He called the stadium abandoned and the buildings illegally erected simply because he wanted to remove the stadium from the cadastral register and give it over to development.

Volgograd residents asked, whether the district head will face punishment, and supported local residents in their fight for the stadium: "Truly, a lying stone gathers no fruit."

In recent years, stadiums in Russian regions have often become “victims” of developers. For example, in Ryazan было allowed to build up the Agrokomplekt stadium, Perm on the site of the stadium is planned construction of residential buildings, and in Rostov-on-Don stadium territory taken away for a kindergarten. Photo: V1.RU readers
