The only kindergarten for hearing-impaired children in Kirov is closing.

Kindergarten "Olenenok" in Kirov does not accept Children with special needs. The Ministry of Education announced that the last students would graduate and the kindergarten would no longer operate. However, it had previously served hearing-impaired children, and there is no other such institution in Kirov—only a boarding school.

"Other kindergartens don't have specialists of this caliber, not even close to those who work at Olenyonok. No one wants to go to regular kindergartens, and there aren't any children anyway," the mother of a graduate of this kindergarten told NeMoskva.

According to her, all the parents signed the appeals to the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Education. She says that at Olenyonok, without any additional preparation for school, her child has already learned to read and count fluently, while children in other preschools "often don't know all the letters."

"Our teachers say you can spot the 'little deer' right away. All the sounds are perfect, the speech is structured perfectly. It's all thanks to the little deer's teaching staff," the mother said.

Ministry of Education explained The kindergarten is being closed due to "negative growth in the number of preschool-aged children." The specialists will be transferred to a city boarding school.

Problems with a shortage of children in kindergartens also exist in other regions. In Gukovo, Rostov Oblast, this is why close This is already the ninth kindergarten, including one for special needs children. Demographer Alexey Raksha noted, that the birth rate in Russia has not been as low as it is now since 2006.
