Three people died in a pipe explosion in the Leningrad region after a leak during testing.

A powerful explosion occurred during pipeline testing in the village of Ust-Luga, Kingisepp District, Leningrad Region. Three people died immediately, and five more sustained injuries of varying severity and were rushed to the hospital. Investigators have already begun work at the scene.

Equipment depressurization in Ust-Luga

A tragic incident was recorded in the Lenryba district of Ust-Luga. According to preliminary information provided by relevant authorities, the accident occurred during a pipe test. Industrial equipment at the facility suddenly depressurized, followed by a devastating explosion.

Local authorities quickly confirmed the incident and the start of an official investigation.

"Investigative bodies are working," commented Viktor Tolkachev, head of the Kingisepp district administration.

The workers injured in the explosion were taken to nearby medical facilities, where they are receiving all necessary emergency care. Investigators are currently determining the exact cause of the equipment failure and the level of safety compliance at the site.
