A massive drone attack on Russian regions has hit oil depots and residential buildings, leaving one dead and one wounded.
Fuel and civilian infrastructure facilities in several Russian regions, including the capital, were subjected to a massive drone attack. The strikes and falling debris damaged an oil refinery in Moscow, an oil depot in the Rostov region, and residential buildings in the Moscow region. Local authorities reported one civilian death and one injury.
Fire at Moscow's Kapotnya Oil Refinery and Airport Closures
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that 43 drones were shot down by air defense forces as they approached Moscow. However, "several UAVs" managed to break through and attack the Moscow Oil Refinery. Eyewitnesses in the Kapotnya district reported intense fires on the refinery's premises, with thick black smoke rising over the city. Due to the threat of an air strike, temporary restrictions on the departure and arrival of civilian aircraft were imposed at the Moscow air hub.
Attack on oil depot in Gukovo: one person killed
Another major attack on fuel infrastructure has been recorded in the Rostov region. According to OSINT analysis by the publication Astra, a local oil depot in the city of Gukovo caught fire after a drone strike. Earlier, Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar officially confirmed that one person was killed in the drone attack in the city, and two more local residents were injured to varying degrees.
Fires at military facilities and injuries in the Belgorod region
In the Belgorod region, near Shebekino, a massive fire broke out following explosions, presumably in a warehouse containing flammable or combustible materials. In Shebekino itself, on the outskirts of the city, a car driver was injured. Furthermore, in the village of Oktyabrsky, the detonation of a drone was recorded; as a result of the explosion, a man suffered shrapnel wounds to the head.
Arrivals in the Moscow region: a shopping mall, a fitness center, and residential buildings were damaged.
In Zhukovsky, Moscow Region, a drone crashed into an apartment building. According to Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, residents are being evacuated immediately. In the village of Stepanovo in Elektrostal, debris from the downed drone damaged the roof of a private home, and a local resident sustained a minor shoulder injury (she refused hospitalization).
A drone crash also sparked a fire on the roof of the large Belaya Dacha shopping center in Kotelniki. In Lyubertsy, a nighttime attack caused damage to a fitness center and a building in the local industrial zone.
