Metro construction in Nizhny Novgorod has been suspended: workers have not been paid for several months.

Workers building the metro line to Sennaya station have not been paid for several months. As a result, construction has been suspended. The workers have not reported to the site, and the State Labor Inspectorate is investigating the payments.

"I'm personally owed 270. The management isn't saying anything about it, there's nothing concrete, they're just pushing back the deadline."- complained one of the workers.

Most of the workers came to Nizhny Novgorod to work on a rotational basis and were left without a livelihood.

The metro line is being built by the company Mosproekt-3, and the subcontractor, the Moscow company Evrikon-Metro, is withholding workers' wages.

Nizhny Novgorod residents, in a discussion of the news, recalled that for the sake of the construction of this station, people were forced against their will houses were seized, demolished historically significant objects. They also noticedthat the state has less and less money: “we’re going back to the 90s.”

Similar problems are growing in other regions. The latest news is about wage arrears. complained M-Video employees, workers at the Ryazan metalworking plant did not see salaries from April.
