How foxes and arctic foxes avoided becoming fur coats: Animal rights activists rescued more than 15 animals from a fur farm.
Russian animal rights activists purchased foxes and arctic foxes from a fur farm, which were intended for fur production. The rescue of the fur-bearing animals began with an unusual request from a seriously ill woman.
An extraordinary request to save lives
The Pride Land animal shelter received an unusual request. A local resident, currently battling severe cancer, asked to buy foxes from a fur farm. She says animal rescue videos have been a great help during this difficult time.
"This is an unusual request, but we couldn't resist and will go and buy the foxes that could become fur coats. We hope they won't refuse us and we'll be able to save a couple of foxes."
Therefore, the activists immediately began preparing for the trip. Specifically, they quickly purchased new boxes necessary for the safe transportation of wild animals.
Instead of two foxes, there is a whole group of fur-bearing animals
However, the animal rights activists' initial plan changed dramatically on the spot. Instead of the planned two cubs, they managed to rescue and purchase more than 15 foxes. However, the rescued animals' brother, who was missing a tail, was still caged at the fur farm. It is known that individuals with such "defects" are the first to be sold for fur coats.
As a result, volunteers accepted the decision not to abandon the remaining cubs and made a second trip.
"We returned to the fur farm for a third fox cub, missing a tail and left alone. And by chance, we managed to buy two more, previously unavailable, cubs. And what's most surprising is that we took in a litter of tiny foxes that were born late."
Context: public rejection of natural fur
Moreover, this is far from the first time in Russia that caring individuals have rescued fur-bearing animals. Many Russians commented on this news, emphasizing that it's time for society to completely abandon clothing made from natural fur.
