Where, where? In non-Moscow! The village of Dada

There are many unusual names on the map of the country: village Slut, Prole-Kasha, and last time we talked about Verkhnenovokutlumbetyevo. This time, about a village with a shorter name. Yes Yes.
📍Yes, yes, such a village exists in Khabarovsk Krai, on the banks of the Amur. This is a traditional Nanai village, the first written mention of which occurs in 1864. But local historians clarify: the first information about local settlers appeared in the mid-17th century, during the campaigns Erofey Khabarov. They left behind "treasures" that people found right in their gardens as late as the 20th century: for example, in the early 1960s, copper coins with a square hole, jade earrings, and arrowheads were unearthed. One of the most important finds was fragments of armor made of scales. This is a daldako tetue, or armor-like garment. This armor was worn when going into mortal combat with the enemy.
📍The village is divided into sections, each with its own name. For example, the area of houses along the uneven riverbank is called Na Dueni (the end of the land), the fishing boat launch is called Chisongko, and Aodakan is a meadow that floods during the flood season. And the Aoka section is the line above the riverbank where residential development begins. According to a local historian, Konstantin BeldyAt the beginning of the last century, a collective farm grew potatoes, watermelons, and even tobacco in these fields. A Chinese hermit also lived in the dugout.
📍 Dada - the name, although surprising to our ears, but there are no legends associated with it, in translation From the Nanai language, it means "channel" (in this case, a channel of the Amur). Simply "Da" is the name of the main residential part of the village, a variant of "Dada," which may have come into use for easier use in indirect cases (to go to Dadu) or in naming the inhabitants: they are called Dadintsy.
The village developed rapidly in the 1930s: a fish farm was established, a school, a hospital, a maternity hospital, and a community center were built. In the 1990s, the economy declined, but the population hasn't decreased significantly: it has remained at around 400 people since the last century. The indigenous population still fishes, hunts, sings Nanai songs, and observes rituals. And the spirits help them—yes, indeed!—for example, on the village's 160th anniversary the year before last, people believe it was the spirits who helped them. drove away It's raining for the big holiday.
