"Illiterate accusations": Yabloko chairman comments on lawsuit seeking to disqualify the party from the State Duma elections

Chairman of the Yabloko party Nikolai Rybakov addressed to supporters ahead of the Supreme Court hearing scheduled for August 10. The court will hear a lawsuit filed by the pro-Kremlin Rodina party seeking to disqualify Yabloko from the State Duma elections. The politician maintains that there are no legal grounds for upholding the lawsuit.

Position of the party leadership and appeal to supporters

In his statement, Nikolai Rybakov emphasized that the opponents' claims lacked legal basis, and certain arguments in the statement of claim raised doubts about the credibility of those who drafted them. The politician expressed complete confidence in the work of the organization's legal department:

Rest assured, our lawyers will leave no stone unturned in eliminating illiterate and politically motivated accusations against the party.

Furthermore, the Yabloko chairman commented specifically on calls circulating on social media to gather at the Supreme Court building. Specifically, Rybakov urged citizens to remain calm, resist any possible provocations, and act solely within the law.

Context: The Rodina Party's lawsuit and pressure on the opposition

Consequently, the pressure on the only registered party with anti-war rhetoric has reached a new level. Previously, the Rodina party requested to the Supreme Court with a demand to cancel the registration of the federal list of Yabloko candidates for the State Duma elections.

In particular, Rodina leader and State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev publicly claimed that Yabloko was allegedly conducting its election campaign with funding from Western sources. Ultimately, the Yabloko representative categorically rejected these statements, calling them slander, and announced a counterclaim to protect his business reputation.
