Urgent repairs and buses with quotes: Putin heads to Ulan-Ude and Novosibirsk

Russian President Vladimir Putin is once again making extensive trips across the country. Today, the head of state is visiting Ulan-Ude and may later travel to Novosibirsk. As a result, local authorities have begun rushing to clean up their cities and imposing restrictions on residents.

State Council meeting and new buses in Ulan-Ude

According to local media, Putin's visit is connected to a State Council meeting and discussions of the republic's development within the framework of the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) master plans. Specifically, key topics include support for the launch of the second Severomuysky tunnel and oversight of major construction projects, including the National Museum of Buryatia and a new school for 760 students.

In addition, new buses were brought to Ulan-Ude for the president's visit, adorned with quotes. One of them, for example, read: "I commend the energy and initiative of the residents of Buryatia, their sincere love for their homeland."

However, the preparations also affected the daily lives of city residents. As a result, repairs to the Victory Memorial in the capital of Buryatia continue, and the central streets have already been closed for the government motorcade.

"Wild Makeover" and Prohibitions in Novosibirsk

Nevertheless, large-scale preparations began in Novosibirsk even before the head of state's arrival. Therefore, in just 10 days, the road to Tolmachevo Airport was repaired. In other parts of the city, officials are also "doing a wild makeover": laying lawns, repaving asphalt, and trimming trees.

In addition, local residents were prohibited in advance from using electric scooters in central Novosibirsk.

Regional tours away from the front lines

As a result, journalists are noticing an increase in presidential travel. The last time Putin made such a massive tour of Russia's regions was in November 2025. However, in just the past month, he has already visited Kazan, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Irkutsk.

Wherever he visited, regional authorities prepared in advance to receive him. The president, however, chose regions located farther from the front lines for his visits.
