"It smells like your home": The seal that became a social media star has returned to Lake Baikal.

A seal named Sergeevna has returned into the wild - now she lives again on Lake Baikal.

This spring, she was rescued by residents of a Buryat village. Ust-BarguzinThey saw a newborn seal, about 10 days old, who had lost her mother. The animal was sitting alone on the ice, severely emaciated, covered in abrasions and ticks.

Sergeevna spent several months undergoing rehabilitation at the Nerpaland center. There, she was dewormed, treated, and taught basic instincts, including swimming.

During her studies, she became a social media star thanks to her cute looks and playful personality. Her videos garnered millions of views.

This week, Sergeevna was returned to Lake Baikal. She was accompanied by Lastochka and Shmel. As befits a social media star, Sergeevna was the last to leave the frame.

According to Nerpaland staff, she has already joined her fellow cubs.
