Elections "without violations," threats from wolves and bears, and new attacks: the main news of the night

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported attacks on targets in the Odesa and Kyiv regions, while 344 drones were shot down over Russian regions. Meanwhile, hundreds of violations during the 2026 elections are being recorded in Russian regions, and curfews are being imposed due to wild animals.

Drone attacks and shelling of regions

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported damage to logistics facilities in the Odesa and Kyiv regions of Ukraine. Meanwhile, in the Sumy region, a strike on a high-rise building killed two people and injured eight others, including two children. Additionally, two people were killed in the Kharkiv region following an attack by Russian forces.

Meanwhile, 344 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over Russian territory, including five over Moscow. In Sochi, for example, authorities were forced to close all beaches due to the threat of attack by unmanned boats.

Denial of parole for Zarema Musaeva

Meanwhile, Zarema Musayeva has once again been denied parole. The mother of the Chechen activists has been imprisoned for nearly five years on fabricated criminal charges.

However, the situation is worsened by the fact that Musaeva continues to have serious health problems, which security forces continue to ignore.

Bears in Baikalsk and wolves in Transbaikalia

In Baikalsk, Irkutsk Oblast, authorities have imposed a curfew from 19:00 PM due to bears constantly wandering into residential areas. Consequently, local residents are officially prohibited from going into the forest or walking their pets in the evenings. Furthermore, minors are completely banned from parks and green areas.

As a result, a dangerous situation with wild animals has also developed in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Local authorities there have warned rural residents about frequent wolf attacks on livestock.

2026 Elections: Violations in the Regions

Independent observers recorded over 200 violations in 33 Russian regions on the first day of voting alone. Volunteers are quickly recording all incidents on the "2026 Elections – Observing Together!" map. Voting will continue for two more days, and polling stations have already opened.

Despite the widespread barring of independent candidates from polling stations, the Central Election Commission maintains that the electoral process is fully under control. The Human Rights Council, in particular, also stated that "there were no serious violations."
