In Tatarstan, a minister bragged about speeding.

Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic Oleg Korobchenko he said that he had arrived from Kazan until Almetyevsk — more than 250 km — in 1,5 hours and caused a scandal on social media. The minister boasted at a reporting session in one of the municipalities, but his remarks leaked to the media.

Korobchenko traveled part of the way along a new toll road that opened in December, where cameras have not yet been installed.

"...I drove from Kazan to Almetyevsk in 1,5 hours on the new road. Yes, of course, it's bad to drive so fast, but the cameras aren't working yet..."- сказал Korobchenko.

The speed limit on the new road is up to 150 km / h, but that was only part of the journey, 145 km. The second part is a regular highway. It can be assumed that the minister either covered the entire journey at a speed of at least 170 km / h, or on a toll road he accelerated and 200 km / h.

This act was condemned on social media. Representatives of the "Stop City Racing – for order on the roads" community requested to officials:

“This was painful to hear <…> Once again, we appeal to the republic’s leadership with a request to convey to the people’s servants the information that the people’s attitude toward the government and the laws is formed and recorded by their behavior and attitude toward the rules.”

Activists believe the minister was driving a BMW 7 model, which has 321 traffic violations recorded by cameras over the past 2,5 years.
