The owner of a "revived" landfill near Ryazan, which had been closed for over ten years, was sent to pretrial detention. 

The owner of the landfill in Turlatovo Valeria Deeva and his son Alexey Deev Sr. and their business partner were arrested until October 31. To Dmitry Maximov are accused of money laundering committed by an organized group. 

"Some people see no boundaries and don't know how to stop in their pursuit of the big ruble. I'm confident that law enforcement and the court will sort this out and a fair decision will be rendered."- expressed the governor on this matter Pavel Malkov

The illegal landfill was closed and reclaimed last year. This year, it was discovered that waste was being dumped there again. 

A year after the landfill was closed, a state of emergency was declared in Ryazan. The governor сообщилthat Class I hazardous waste had been brought into the landfill. A little later, it became known that three criminal cases had been opened against Deev.

The Deyevskaya landfill was located on the site of the Khimvolokno plant's wastewater treatment facilities. Expired fertilizers, mercury lamps, and other toxic waste were dumped there. Regulatory authorities and activists tried to shut it down for over a decade, but did not work: The illegal landfill changed legal entities and their registration addresses. About it filmed stories and the federal media wrote about it, but the dump flourished. 

On social media, some called these measures a precedent and rejoiced, while others expressed the opinion that it was quite possible that the site had caught the eye of a more serious entrepreneur.
