Drone debris fell in a field in the Omsk region after an attack on the region, sparking a fire.

Drone debris fell in the Omsk region, starting a field fire. All emergency services in the region have been placed on high alert following reports of another drone attack.

Authorities' reaction and reports of the attack on the Omsk Oil Refinery

No residents were injured in the incident, as Governor Vitaly Khotsenko officially reported. However, according to local public groups and Z-bloggers, smoke was seen rising near the oil refinery in Omsk itself, and Ukrainian Telegram channels also reported a new attack on the Omsk Oil Refinery.

However, eyewitnesses on site do not observe any serious consequences at the plant itself.

We're about two kilometers from the refinery. But there's no smoke coming from it. We walked along Neftezavodskaya Street, which runs directly to the refinery, and didn't hear any sirens there. Everything seemed quiet. But on July 6, when the refinery was actually attacked, there was real smoke.

Consequently, city residents have not observed any large-scale destruction directly on the plant’s premises this time.

Flight delays and cancellation of holiday concerts

Furthermore, the drone attack caused significant disruptions to transportation and urban infrastructure. In particular, most flights from Omsk Airport were canceled or delayed, and two passenger planes from Moscow and St. Petersburg were urgently diverted to Novosibirsk.

As a result of the drone strike, a celebratory concert celebrating the city's 310th anniversary, featuring singers Mary Gu and Victoria Daineko, was cancelled in Omsk. Governor Vitaly Khotsenko urged Omsk residents to strictly observe safety regulations and remain calm.

It is noteworthy that Omsk is located approximately 2,5 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, yet it has repeatedly become a target for drone attacks.
