Russia has become a world leader in the rate of decline in the number of abortions, according to Vedomosti.

Over the past 15 years, the number of induced abortions in Russia has decreased fourfold - from 1,01 mln in 2010 until 235,7 тыс. in 2025. This is evidenced by calculations by Vedomosti, based on data from Rosstat, the Ministry of Health, and international organizations.
