Yakut Yabloko candidate Anatoly Nogovitsyn has been accused of illegal campaigning.
Yakut politician Anatoly Nogovitsyn, registered yesterday as a candidate for the State Duma elections from Yabloko, received a warning about illegal campaigning. The warning came less than 24 hours after he registered for the election. As a result, the candidate alleged significant pressure on the opposition's election campaign.
Blood pressure in the first day after registration
The politician commented on the situation on his Telegram channel. According to him, regulatory authorities are seeking to deprive the opposition of the opportunity to conduct full-fledged work.
"It's been less than 24 hours, and today I already received a warning about illegal campaigning. It seems they've decided to completely cut off our airspace in these elections and pressure us for every action."
Ultimately, Anatoly Nogovitsyn expressed concern that he would not be allowed to fully discuss the party's platform and candidates. However, the politician's supporters have already created an independent channel in his support. Specifically, they plan to cover key points of the Yabloko platform, focusing on the pursuit of peace and freedom.
What are the penalties for violations during campaigning?
Furthermore, this warning does not automatically disqualify the candidate from the election. By law, an opposition candidate's registration cannot be revoked solely for illegal campaigning.
At the same time, the candidate's campaign materials may be blocked or completely confiscated. For example, violators may also face an administrative fine of up to 500 rubles.
